Ross Jordan
Nashville, Tennessee

Ross Jordan was born in 1950 in Tennessee. Art has been his passion since childhood. Throughout the summers he attended Scarritt Art College and the Children’s Art Museum. He was encouraged to paint by his high school art teacher. He sold his first oil painting and sculptor in the school art festival.

Ross didn’t actively paint for years; instead he joined the army, attended college, and married and raised a family.
During 2001, Ross began painting as a hobby. His wife has beautifully decorated their home with seventy oil paintings.

Ross creates extraordinary expressive oil paintings based on photographs and history books. He uses a method of black background with vivid colors to create a picture that appears to jump from the canvas into reality.

Whatever his subject-rural farm life, city skylines, African life his touch is skillful, and advanced. He is never satisfied until he can represent them in paintings exactly as they are in life. His goal is to make paintings so realistic, that viewer’s are drawn into the image and share his zest for life.

Ross’s work is represented in both private and corporate collections.
