Kimberly Coots
Nashville, Tennessee
Working
with clay is a passion for Kimberly Coots. Over the past eight
years, she has discovered and perfected many techniques for
creating her unique pottery. After first putting her design
ideas on paper, she transfers those designs by throwing, hand-building,
and carving clay into three-dimensional objects.
Kimberly's works incorporate many variations on contemporary and classical
forms. While her work shows the influence of the artists under whom
she has studied, including Harry Hearne, Charlie Akin, Stephen Robison,
and Kathleen Gus, Kimberly's use of the medium has taken a direction
entirely her own.
Kimberly is an elementary school teacher in Nashville, Tennessee.
