An acute observer of the beauty found in everyday life, Camille Engel’s detailed paintings invite you to momentarily step into her world of
observation. The detail she captures on each canvas allows you to share in her joy of the world around her: the unexpected beauty found in the natural process of corrosion as well as the beauty of creation – all fragrance, all the color and detail in each beautiful object.
“I am amazed and fascinated with color, texture and the splendor of even the most ordinary of subject,” she shares. “I want to capture the richness of all that life is in everything I see. My fascination has no limit except by time itself… there is simply not enough time within each day to paint all that my heart desires to capture on canvas.”
Camille’s paintings are not created quickly – they are built meticulously, stroke by stroke, layer by layer. Often, there are seven or more layers capturing the intricacies of observation. Her paintings are executed in both wet and dry techniques to establish a moment of splendor on the canvas, creating paintings of richness, depth and intriguing surface quality.
Accepted in “The Best International Realism” Cape Cod, MA and among the worlds top realists for an International Realism Exhibition in Santa Fe, NM, Camille has exhibited in top art exhibitions from Dallas TC to the National Arts Club and galleries in New York and won several awards. Her paintings are in many notable corporate and private collections including The Children’s Hospital in Vanderbilt; Metropolitan Nashville, TN Government; Martina McBride; Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Waltrip; DRS. Alan and Janet Yuspeh; and international speaker Joe Calloway.
